5 Days Uganda Mountain Gorilla Safari

Arrival at Entebbe International Airport, where you will be met and assisted through immigration. After completing arrival formalities, you will be transferred to your hotel in Entebbe. The remainder of the day is at leisure to rest after your international flight. Your guide will be available to assist with any immediate requirements such as currency exchange. Drive time is approximately 15 minutes.

Early morning transfer to Entebbe Airport for your scheduled domestic flight to Kisoro, departing at 07h00 and arriving at 08h15. On arrival, you will be met and transferred by road to the Bwindi region. The drive passes through cultivated hills and rural communities before reaching the forest edge. Bwindi is dense, steep, and ancient. Its terrain and vegetation define the trekking experience and are key to preserving the gorilla habitat. In the afternoon, a guided community visit offers insight into daily life around the park and the role tourism plays in conservation. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge. (It’s also possible to visit the Batwa people who are the original guardians of the forest.) Drive time from airstrip to lodges mentioned is approximately 1.5 hours.

After breakfast, you will transfer to Kisoro Airstrip for your return flight to Entebbe, departing at 08h30 and arriving at 11h25. On arrival, you will proceed for a relaxed afternoon in Entebbe, including a visit to the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, which focuses on conservation and rehabilitation of wildlife, followed by time at the Entebbe Botanical Gardens, known for its birdlife and lakeside setting. Lunch will be served overlooking Lake Victoria. Later, you will be transferred to your hotel or prepared for onward travel depending on your flight schedule.

This morning, you may opt for an early excursion to Mabamba Swamp, one of the most reliable locations in East Africa to sight the shoebill stork. The excursion is conducted by canoe through papyrus channels with experienced birding guides. This activity is recommended only for travellers with late afternoon or evening departures. Alternatively, the morning remains at leisure before your transfer to Entebbe International Airport for departure.
